An OM can be a strong fingerstyle platform, but the useful comparison is the complete playing system: body, neck, string tension, setup, dynamic range, upper-fret access, and amplification.
Fit
Body size affects comfort and how the player feels the instrument, but model names are not perfectly standardized between makers. Compare actual dimensions, body depth, scale, nut width, bridge spacing, neck profile, and setup instead of assuming every OM will feel the same.

A dreadnought or larger body may fit better for strong flatpicking, bluegrass headroom, or a familiar large-body response. A smaller guitar may fit better for travel or a very light touch. A stage-focused acoustic-electric may be the better tool when feedback control and plugged-in consistency outweigh unplugged complexity.
